My name is Swinda, photographer and doula at bevalkracht. As a birth photographer, I am present to quietly, respectfully, and professionally document the important moments. This allows you to fully focus on the birth itself, and later look back on the story of your baby’s arrival whenever you wish.

About me
I am Swinda, co-founder of bevalkracht. For many years, I have been capturing meaningful moments — from family weddings and concerts by my choir to travel photography and family photo sessions. A favorite tradition is the films I create each year for my children’s birthdays. This love for visual storytelling eventually led me to birth photography — the perfect complement to my work as a doula.

I completed training with "Samengeboortefotografen" and document your birth discreetly and professionally, with an eye for the small details that make the story complete.
Why choose birth photography
Birth photography tells the story of your baby’s arrival. Birth is a life‑changing experience — something you prepare for carefully, look forward to, or perhaps feel a bit nervous about. At bevalkracht, our mission is to guide you toward a positive birth experience. For us, capturing the story of your birth is a meaningful part of that journey. It allows you to look back on every moment: your emotions, the involvement of your (birth) partner, and that very first meeting with your baby. A precious memory that gives you the space to revisit and process this transformative experience.

We help you prepare for your birth just as intentionally, experience it just as consciously, and document it as beautifully as you would a wedding. Birth photography ensures that your story is captured with care. Your (birth) partner can remain fully present without needing to focus on taking photos or trying to preserve what is happening.

During labour, you often move into your own bubble and may not notice everything unfolding around you. And so much happens that it can be hard to remember it all clearly. Alongside the big moments, I also capture the small details — the ones that might go unnoticed in the moment, but together create a complete and intimate story of your child’s birth.

When you choose the combination with doula support, birth photography blends seamlessly into the support you receive.
During your pregnancy we discuss your wishes, boundaries, and needs in detail. During the birth, we decide together where the focus lies in each moment. Sometimes the birth requires full support, and the camera naturally takes a step back. At other times, there is space to capture more. This flexibility creates clarity and a sense of calm and trust in the process.
