Why choose birth photography
Birth photography tells the story of your baby’s arrival. Birth is a life‑changing experience — something you prepare for carefully, look forward to, or perhaps feel a bit nervous about. At bevalkracht, our mission is to guide you toward a positive birth experience. For us, capturing the story of your birth is a meaningful part of that journey. It allows you to look back on every moment: your emotions, the involvement of your (birth) partner, and that very first meeting with your baby. A precious memory that gives you the space to revisit and process this transformative experience.
We help you prepare for your birth just as intentionally, experience it just as consciously, and document it as beautifully as you would a wedding. Birth photography ensures that your story is captured with care. Your (birth) partner can remain fully present without needing to focus on taking photos or trying to preserve what is happening.
During labour, you often move into your own bubble and may not notice everything unfolding around you. And so much happens that it can be hard to remember it all clearly. Alongside the big moments, I also capture the small details — the ones that might go unnoticed in the moment, but together create a complete and intimate story of your child’s birth.
Birth photography and doula support
At bevalkracht, we offer the unique combination of birth photography and doula support. This way, birth photography becomes a natural part of our mission to support you throughout the entire birth experience.
When you choose the combination with doula support, birth photography blends seamlessly into the support you receive.
During your pregnancy we discuss your wishes, boundaries, and needs in detail. During the birth, we decide together where the focus lies in each moment. Sometimes the birth requires full support, and the camera naturally takes a step back. At other times, there is space to capture more. This flexibility creates clarity and a sense of calm and trust in the process.
What to expect
During your pregnancy we schedule an intake meeting in which we discuss your wishes, boundaries, and all practical details. This includes topics such as privacy, the role of care providers, and any guidelines from your chosen place of birth.
From 38 weeks of pregnancy, I am available 24/7. I join you once you enter the active phase of labor and stay until approximately 1–2 hours after the birth, documenting both the course of the birth and those precious first moments afterward.
